Terms of Service

Last updated · April 8, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Docure ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Docure is operated by Docure ("we", "us", "our"), based in Austria.

2. Description of Service

Docure is a local-first business hub that allows you to manage contacts, invoices, contracts, tasks, notes, and bookmarks. The core application runs entirely in your browser and stores data locally on your device. Optional cloud sync and team collaboration features are available for registered users.

3. User Accounts

You can use Docure's core features without creating an account. To access team collaboration or cloud sync features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Your Data

You retain full ownership of all content and data you create using Docure. Since data is stored locally on your device by default:

  • You are responsible for backing up your local data
  • We are not liable for data loss due to browser storage clearing, device failure, or other local issues
  • You can export your data at any time using the built-in backup feature

If you use cloud sync, your data is stored on our servers subject to our Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Distribute malware or harmful content through shared workspaces
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or our systems
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

6. Free and Paid Plans

Docure offers a free tier with full local-first functionality. Paid plans provide additional features such as cloud sync, team collaboration, and priority support. We reserve the right to modify pricing and plan features with reasonable notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The Docure application, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of Docure. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without prior written consent. Your content and data remain your intellectual property.

8. Limitation of Liability

Docure is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Service Availability

Since Docure is a local-first application, core functionality works offline and is not dependent on server availability. Cloud sync and team features may experience occasional downtime for maintenance. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance in advance.

10. Termination

You may stop using Docure at any time. Your local data remains on your device even after you stop using the Service. We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to access cloud-synced data may be revoked, but your local data remains unaffected.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email (for registered users). Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Austria.
